da Vinci, Michelangelo and Rafael
MTAB was commissioned to drive some of the art world’s most precious original works from Landvetter to the exhibition at Eriksbergshallen in Gothenburg.
The exhibition “And there was light” was on display at Eriksbergshallen in Gothenburg in the spring and summer of 2010. 55 original works were included, of which 20 or so were by the three masters: da Vinci, Michelangelo and Rafael.
The works of art were picked up at Landvetter from a special plane chartered from Italy. 17 specially packed crates monitored by nine couriers who travelled with them were loaded into the truck.
MTAB’s driver Peter Berggren and his colleague then drove briskly through Gothenburg in a motorcade, surrounded by armed guards and helicopter surveillance. Their orders were not to stop under any circumstances whatsoever. Civilian vehicles drove close up behind and in front of the MTAB truck throughout the entire journey so as to prevent any vehicles getting in between them.
